Job Brief
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate management of inventory, shipping, and receiving processes. You will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including helpers, laborers, and material movers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and experience in warehouse management practices to optimize workflow and enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate and allocate tasks to warehouse personnel to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage the receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management, including process improvements and lean methodologies.
- Train and develop warehouse staff in operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and prepare reports for management.
- Resolve any inventory discrepancies and address employee performance issues as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management roles.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse machinery safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards in warehouse environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
