Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced WAN Systems Administrator to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our organization’s wide area network (WAN) and data communications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network management, ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware, network resources, and virtual servers. Key responsibilities include system monitoring, software upgrades, and user access control, along with a commitment to optimizing network performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain WAN and LAN infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and verify the integrity and availability of network and server resources.
- Review system and application logs to ensure the successful completion of scheduled jobs, including backups.
- Analyze network usage and resource consumption to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Control user access and permissions to maintain data integrity and security.
- Install and upgrade software applications, managing software licenses effectively.
- Assist with network modeling, planning, and coordination between hardware and software components.
- Document network configurations, changes, and updates to maintain accurate records and facilitate troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of WAN technologies and protocols (e.g., MPLS, VPN, BGP).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and systems (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).
- Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficient in network security practices and tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, MCSA) are preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
