Job Brief
As a Wall Taper, you will specialize in preparing wall surfaces for painting or papering by sealing joints between plasterboard or other wallboard materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail and proficiency in various taping techniques to ensure a smooth, flawless finish. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut wallboard to appropriate sizes for installation.
- Seal joints between plasterboard or wallboard using tape and joint compound.
- Apply multiple layers of joint compound to achieve a smooth surface.
- Sand and finish surfaces to prepare for painting or wallpapering.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advances in wall taping technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Wall Taper or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of various wallboard materials and taping techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in construction.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for handling tools and materials.
- Valid certification in drywall installation or related field is preferred.
