Job Brief
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Job Coach, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals facing personal, social, and vocational challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include counseling clients to enhance their independence and employability, assessing their needs, and developing tailored rehabilitation programs. This position requires a compassionate approach, exceptional communication skills, and a solid understanding of vocational training and job placement strategies. Successful candidates will possess experience in working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to supporting individuals in overcoming barriers to employment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of client needs to identify barriers to employment and personal independence.
- Design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs that incorporate vocational training and personal counseling.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to clients throughout the job search process, including resume writing and interview preparation.
- Coordinate activities and workshops for residents of care and treatment facilities to promote skill development and job readiness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to facilitate job placements and internships for clients.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting rehabilitation plans as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
- Advocate for clients within various agencies and resources to secure necessary support services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information to provide relevant guidance and resources to clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in vocational coaching or rehabilitation services, preferably with individuals facing disabilities or life challenges.
- Strong understanding of job placement strategies and vocational training programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Knowledge of available community resources and support services relevant to vocational rehabilitation.
- Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Proficiency in using technology and software tools related to job coaching and client management.
