Job Brief
As a Viticulturist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on the breeding, physiology, production, and management of grapevines and other agricultural plants. Responsibilities
- Conduct research on grapevine breeding, physiology, and production techniques to enhance crop yield.
- Analyze soil composition and characteristics to determine their impact on plant growth and productivity.
- Evaluate pest management strategies to minimize crop loss and enhance grape quality.
- Classify and map soil types to improve land management practices.
- Implement sustainable agricultural practices to promote environmental conservation.
- Collaborate with agricultural scientists and stakeholders to develop effective viticulture programs.
- Monitor and assess plant health, growth patterns, and overall vineyard performance.
- Prepare reports and presentations on research findings and recommendations for improved vineyard management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in viticulture or a similar agricultural role.
- Strong knowledge of soil science, pest control methods, and crop management practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills for effectively presenting research findings.
- Certifications in pesticide application and sustainable farming practices are a plus.
