Job Brief
The Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV) Officer is responsible for overseeing the operation, management, and tactical deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) within military operations. This role requires extensive experience in aerial reconnaissance, mission planning, and flight operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in UAV systems, and the ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments. Essential skills include proficiency in flight control systems, data analysis, and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate UAV operations for reconnaissance and surveillance missions.
- Develop and implement flight plans and operational procedures for VTUAV missions.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Analyze flight data and mission reports to inform operational strategy.
- Train and mentor personnel on UAV operation, maintenance, and tactical deployment.
- Collaborate with other military units to integrate UAV capabilities into joint operations.
- Respond to and troubleshoot technical issues during UAV operations.
- Maintain accurate records of UAV missions and equipment status.
Requirements
- Commissioned officer status with a background in military operations or aviation.
- Experience with unmanned aerial systems and flight operations.
- Strong technical skills in UAV software, sensors, and communication systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Completion of relevant UAV training programs or certifications.
