Job Brief
As a Utility Arborist, you will be responsible for performing advanced tree care and maintenance, ensuring the safety and accessibility of utility right-of-ways. Utilize sophisticated climbing and rigging techniques to remove dead or excess branches from trees and shrubs, enhancing their health and aesthetic value. Responsibilities
- Employ advanced climbing and rigging techniques to safely prune and remove branches from trees and shrubs.
- Maintain utility right-of-ways by cutting away dead or excess vegetation that may impede roads, sidewalks, or utility lines.
- Utilize tools such as handsaws, hand pruners, clippers, and power pruners effectively.
- Operate truck-mounted lifts to access higher branches and perform necessary tree maintenance tasks.
- Assess tree health and appearance, providing treatment recommendations when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement vegetation management plans.
- Maintain equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Utility Arborist or similar role in tree care and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and appropriate pruning techniques.
- Certification in arboriculture or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating climbing gear, rigging equipment, and aerial lifts.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations in arboriculture.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina required for demanding outdoor work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
