Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Typist to join our team. In this role, you will utilize word processing software, computers, or typewriters to accurately type letters, reports, forms, and other materials based on rough drafts, corrected copies, or voice recordings. The ideal candidate will have excellent typing speed, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clerical tasks as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our office environment.
Responsibilities
- Type and format various documents, including letters, reports, and forms, ensuring high accuracy and professionalism.
- Transcribe audio recordings and handwritten notes into digital formats.
- Review and edit documents for clarity, grammar, and formatting before finalizing.
- Maintain organized records of typed documents and perform data entry as needed.
- Assist with additional clerical duties, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and tasks.
- Utilize office equipment, including printers and fax machines, to support daily operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a typist or in a similar clerical role.
- Exceptional typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
- Proficiency in word processing software (e.g., MS Word, Google Docs) and basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce error-free work.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in typing or office administration are a plus.
