Job Brief
As a Twister Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines that wind or twist textiles, as well as drawing out and combining sliver from various materials such as wool, hemp, and synthetic fibers. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to monitor machine performance to ensure high-quality production standards. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in textile manufacturing and a strong understanding of the machinery involved in the twisting and winding processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust twisting machines to produce various textile products according to specifications.
- Operate equipment to wind and twist fibers, ensuring consistency and quality in the final product.
- Monitor machine operations and performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production rates.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any discrepancies to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all operations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in textile manufacturing is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Twister Operator or in a similar role within the textile industry.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with textile fibers, slubbing, and drawing frame operations.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality control standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
