Job Brief
The Turf and Grounds Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing landscaping and groundskeeping activities. This role involves coordinating workforce operations, ensuring high-quality maintenance of outdoor spaces, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of horticulture, and experience in estimating project costs and resource requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of groundskeeping and landscaping teams.
- Review contracts to identify service needs, machinery, and personnel requirements.
- Prepare accurate estimates for labor, materials, and equipment costs for projects.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding landscaping methods, materials, and pricing.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for turf and landscape areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in turf management and grounds maintenance.
- Monitor the performance of landscaping equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in turf management, landscaping, or groundskeeping supervision.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, turf maintenance, and landscaping techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to estimate costs and manage project budgets effectively.
- Familiarity with landscaping equipment and machinery operations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate landscaping vehicles.
- Certification in horticulture or landscape management is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
