Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Tree Surgeon to join our team, responsible for the safe and efficient pruning, trimming, and removal of trees and shrubs. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced climbing and rigging techniques to manage tree health, enhance property aesthetics, and maintain right-of-way for roads and utilities. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of tree biology and industry safety standards, along with proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Utilize climbing gear, rigging systems, and aerial lifts to access and maintain trees safely.
- Evaluate tree health and condition, identifying disease, pests, or structural issues.
- Implement tree care practices to enhance growth, health, and appearance.
- Maintain and operate power tools, including chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all operations.
- Communicate with clients to provide recommendations and explain tree care procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tree Surgeon or in a similar role within the arboriculture industry.
- Knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and proper pruning techniques.
- Certification in tree care, such as ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent, preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations in tree work.
- Ability to operate climbing equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work at heights.
- Good communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
