Job Brief
The Tool Polishing Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending grinding and related tools to remove excess material, sharpen edges, and polish metal or plastic workpieces. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate polishing and grinding machines according to specifications.
- Operate polishing machines to buff, hone, and polish metal and plastic components.
- Inspect finished products for defects and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor production processes and adjust machinery settings as needed to meet output targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety regulations.
- Document production data and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tool Polishing Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Familiarity with various grinding and polishing machines and their operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production documentation.
