Job Brief

The Tin Plater is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plating machines to apply protective and decorative coatings of metals such as chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, and nickel on metal or plastic products. This role requires expertise in handling molten metals and electrolytic solutions, ensuring quality control throughout the plating process. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of plating techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards, along with relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust plating machines for optimal performance and quality output.
  • Operate plating equipment to coat products with specified metal finishes.
  • Monitor and control the plating process to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on plating machinery to prevent downtime.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and consistency in coating thickness.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including batch numbers and material usage.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in plating or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Tin Plater or in a similar plating role.
  • Familiarity with plating machinery and electroplating processes.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and regulations in the plating industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
