Job Brief
As a Terrazzo Layer Helper, you will support skilled terrazzo layers in installing and finishing terrazzo flooring and other surfaces. This entry-level position requires a strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Responsibilities
- Assist terrazzo layers in preparing surfaces for installation by cleaning, leveling, and priming as needed.
- Mix and pour terrazzo materials, including epoxy and cement, following project specifications.
- Help in laying out patterns and designs for terrazzo installations to ensure accuracy.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely to assist in the installation process.
- Support the finishing process by polishing and sealing installed terrazzo surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks on the job site.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate progress to lead workers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in construction or as a laborer is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of terrazzo installation techniques and materials.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from skilled terrazzo layers.
