Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Terrazzo Finisher with extensive experience in crafting durable and decorative surfaces using a mixture of cement, sand, pigment, or marble chips. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, proficiency in terrazzo application techniques, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and the ability to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix materials, including cement, sand, and marble chips, to achieve desired terrazzo finishes.
- Apply terrazzo mixtures to floors, stairways, and cabinet fixtures following established patterns and designs.
- Use hand tools and machinery for grinding, polishing, and finishing terrazzo surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and perform necessary touch-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with project managers and other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and handling materials responsibly.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually improve craftsmanship and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Terrazzo Finisher or similar role in the construction or flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of terrazzo materials, mixing processes, and application techniques.
- Ability to operate grinding and polishing machinery safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in construction or flooring is a plus.
