Job Brief
The Tank Truck Loader is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading various chemicals and bulk solids, including coal, sand, and grain, into and from tank cars, trucks, or ships. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols while utilizing material moving equipment. Ideal candidates will possess experience in material handling, a strong understanding of hazardous materials, and the ability to perform testing for leaks and gauge shipping tanks.
Responsibilities
- Operate material moving equipment to load and unload bulk materials safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and test shipping tanks for leaks and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Gauge and sample chemicals and bulk solids to ensure proper loading and unloading procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory levels for quality control.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate loading schedules and optimize workflow.
- Implement and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on loading equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hazardous materials handling preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tank Truck Loader or in a similar material handling position.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to hazardous materials.
- Ability to operate forklifts, tank trucks, and other material moving equipment safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
