Job Brief
As a Surgical Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses, either independently or as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Your expertise in health promotion and disease prevention will be essential in providing comprehensive patient care. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and manage a range of surgical conditions.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Prescribe medications and manage patient medication therapies.
- Provide patient education on health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty area (e.g., Acute Care, Family Practice).
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
