Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Instrument Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing, adjusting, and repairing biomedical and electromedical equipment used in surgical procedures. This role requires a solid understanding of surgical instruments, technical proficiency in equipment diagnostics, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. Responsibilities
- Test and evaluate the functionality of surgical instruments and biomedical equipment.
- Adjust and calibrate instruments to ensure optimal performance and precision.
- Repair and maintain surgical equipment, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify equipment issues and provide solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest technology and industry trends related to surgical instruments.
- Conduct routine inspections of instruments to prevent malfunctions and extend lifespan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in biomedical technology or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Surgical Instrument Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and their maintenance requirements.
- Familiarity with biomedical equipment repair and diagnostic tools.
- Certification in biomedical equipment technology (CBET) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
