As a Surgical Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care within a dental practice. Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assist the dentist during various dental treatments and surgeries, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining treatments and calming any anxieties.
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients, reinforcing oral health education.
- Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Handle billing and coding for insurance claims, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental workspace to promote a safe environment.
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in dental technology and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program preferred.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent is a plus.
- Proven experience in a dental office setting, particularly in surgical assistance.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication and patient management skills.
- Familiarity with dental software for scheduling and billing is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Current CPR certification is required.
