Job Brief

Responsibilities
- Assist agricultural scientists in conducting research on sugarcane genetics, breeding, and agronomy.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and field research equipment.
- Collect and prepare crop and soil samples for analysis and experimentation.
- Conduct tests and experiments to evaluate sugarcane growth, yield, and disease resistance.
- Record and analyze data to support findings and assist in the development of research reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement research methodologies and improve agricultural practices.
- Monitor and maintain research plots, ensuring adherence to experimental protocols.
- Stay current with advancements in agricultural science and technology related to sugarcane research.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Plant Biology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in laboratory techniques and field research methodologies.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and laboratory management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in data collection and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate findings.
- Knowledge of sugarcane cultivation practices and pest management strategies.
- Experience with biological experiments and statistical analysis is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to research sites as needed.
