Job Brief
The Student Ministries Director plays a crucial role in fostering spiritual growth and community engagement among youth within a denominational group. This position is responsible for coordinating and designing educational programs and outreach initiatives that promote religious education and activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of youth development, and experience in counseling, guidance, and support for various personal challenges, including marital, health, financial, and spiritual issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging educational programs and activities for youth and young adults.
- Conduct outreach efforts to recruit and retain participants in student ministries.
- Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to students and families facing personal challenges.
- Collaborate with church leadership and volunteers to enhance youth ministry effectiveness.
- Organize and lead retreats, workshops, and community service projects.
- Evaluate and assess program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and church staff to foster a supportive community.
- Manage budgets, resources, and any necessary administrative tasks related to student ministries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth ministry or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups.
- Proven experience in program planning, development, and execution.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with counseling techniques and support for youth-related issues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Certifications in youth counseling or ministry management are a plus.
