Job Brief
The Structural Drafter plays a crucial role in the design and documentation of architectural and structural features of buildings and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural and structural drawings for buildings, highways, bridges, and public works projects.
- Utilize CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, to create precise drawings and models.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure compliance with project specifications and local building codes.
- Review and modify existing drawings based on project updates and feedback.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and verify project specifications.
- Incorporate knowledge of building materials and construction techniques into drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and project changes for reference.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Structural Drafter or similar role in the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building codes.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail in drafting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software is a plus.
- Certification from a recognized drafter program is advantageous.
