Job Brief
As a Street Cleaning Equipment Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of urban environments. Your primary responsibilities will include operating specialized street cleaning machinery, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate street cleaning vehicles and equipment to remove debris, litter, and pollutants from roadways and public spaces.
- Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on street cleaning machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to management promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy machinery in various weather conditions.
- Coordinate with municipal teams to schedule cleaning routes and respond to community requests for street cleaning services.
- Document work completed and maintain accurate records of daily operations and equipment usage.
- Engage in environmental best practices to promote sustainability and reduce waste.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in machinery operation is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery or street cleaning equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to equipment operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and practices related to waste management.
