Job Brief
As a Steel Roller, you will set up, operate, and maintain machinery to effectively roll steel or plastic. This role involves forming bends, beads, knurls, and plates, as well as flattening, tempering, or reducing the gauge of materials. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in machine operation, mechanical aptitude, and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust roller machines according to specifications for steel and plastic materials.
- Operate machines to produce various shapes such as bends, beads, knurls, and plates.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on rolling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect finished products for adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine operations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production workflows and resolve any issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metalworking or machine operation is preferred.
- Proven experience in operating steel rolling machines or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
