Job Brief

The Steel Pourer is responsible for operating hand-controlled mechanisms to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds, ensuring the production of high-quality castings or ingots. Candidates should possess experience in metalworking environments, demonstrating proficiency in the safe handling of molten materials and a strong understanding of casting processes. Responsibilities

  • Operate and control pouring mechanisms to accurately pour molten steel into molds.
  • Monitor the temperature and flow of molten metal to maintain quality standards.
  • Inspect molds and castings for defects or inconsistencies, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Record production data and report on operational issues to supervisors.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on pouring equipment to ensure optimal functioning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metalworking is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Steel Pourer or in a similar role within the metalworking industry.
  • Strong understanding of casting processes and metal properties.
  • Ability to operate hand-controlled machinery and tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in handling molten metal.
