Job Brief
The Spike Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to forging machines to taper, shape, or form metal or plastic parts. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to adhere to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate spike forging machines according to specifications and production requirements.
- Operate machines to taper, shape, and form metal or plastic components, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal production rates and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to understand production processes.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, performing troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine performance and output data.
- Comply with all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machine operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in forging or metalworking environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and machine operation protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Basic math skills and experience with measurement tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines.
