Job Brief
The Space Systems Operations Superintendent plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of tactical specialists within the space systems sector. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of tactical operations specialists to ensure mission readiness and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, protocols, and best practices for space system operations.
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to optimize team productivity and operational success.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge related to space systems and operational technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate mission planning and execution efforts.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all operational activities.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet mission timelines and objectives.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders regarding operational issues, updates, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in space systems operations or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of supervising technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of space mission planning, satellite operations, and ground control procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in space operations and mission control.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Certifications in space operations or project management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
