Job Brief
The Soldering Machine Tender is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to welding, soldering, and brazing machines or robots that join metal products, components, or assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication and a strong understanding of welding techniques, including laser cutting. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust welding, soldering, and brazing machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate machines and robots to fabricate metal components according to specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and machine maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure longevity and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Soldering Machine Tender or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and brazing.
- Experience operating laser cutting machines is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
