Job Brief
The Soldering Machine Setter and Setup Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to various welding, soldering, and brazing machines or robots. This role requires proficiency in managing processes that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. Ideal candidates possess a solid background in machine operation and maintenance, along with strong attention to detail and technical skills in metal fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate soldering machines, welding equipment, and laser cutters according to specifications.
- Operate soldering and welding machines to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies.
- Monitor machine operations for safety, efficiency, and product quality throughout the production process.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of soldering and welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect finished products for conformity to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports related to machine operation and output.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to enhance production processes and resolve issues.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or metal fabrication is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Soldering Machine Setter, Setup Operator, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of welding, soldering, and brazing techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in metalworking.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tools and machinery effectively.
