Job Brief
The Solar Photovoltaic Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures related to solar energy systems. This role requires a skilled tradesperson with experience in adhering to electrical codes and standards while also ensuring the efficient performance of solar photovoltaic systems. Responsibilities
- Install and configure solar photovoltaic systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures related to solar installations.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical components, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to implement electrical system designs for solar projects.
- Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Install and service electrical control systems, intercom systems, and street lights as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding the operation and maintenance of solar energy systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used for each project.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Valid electrician’s license or certification in the relevant state.
- Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance, particularly in solar energy systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
