Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions swiftly and accurately using cash registers and electronic payment systems.
- Receive and disburse cash, ensuring proper handling of currency and maintaining cash drawer balance.
- Engage with customers to provide excellent service, answer questions, and resolve issues effectively.
- Validate checks and process credit/debit card transactions in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring product availability.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance customer satisfaction and improve operational efficiency.
- Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures to minimize discrepancies and theft.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer service role in retail or food service.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and electronic payment processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in cash handling are a plus.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
