Job Brief
As a Skein Yarn Dyer, you will be responsible for transforming raw yarn into beautifully dyed skeins using various dyeing techniques. Responsibilities
- Operate dyeing machines to apply color to skein yarn using various methods, including immersion, hand-dyeing, and spray techniques.
- Prepare dye solutions and manage dyeing processes to achieve desired color results while minimizing waste.
- Monitor the dyeing process, adjusting temperature and timing as necessary to ensure quality control.
- Bleach, wash, and finish yarn to prepare for dyeing, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and quality.
- Conduct regular maintenance of dyeing machines and troubleshoot any operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records of dye formulations, production batches, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new dyeing techniques and color palettes that align with market trends.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations in the handling of dyes and chemicals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training in textile production or dyeing preferred.
- Proven experience in yarn dyeing or textile processing, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Knowledge of color theory, dye properties, and textile fibers.
- Familiarity with operating dyeing machinery and textile finishing equipment.
