Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Silk Screen Operator to set up and operate various printing machines, including digital, letterpress, lithographic, flexographic, and gravure systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in short-run offset printing presses and possess a strong attention to detail and quality control. The Silk Screen Operator will be responsible for ensuring accurate color matching, maintaining equipment, and producing high-quality printed materials efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot silk screen printing machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on printing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Prepare screens and inks according to job specifications, ensuring accurate color matching.
- Monitor printing processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality assurance criteria.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure accurate replication of designs on various materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Document production runs and report any issues to management for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in printing technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a Silk Screen Operator or in a similar printing role.
- Strong knowledge of various printing techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and production schedules.
- Proficient in color theory and ink mixing for accurate color reproduction.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
