Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Rock Worker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying plasterboard and other wallboard materials to ceilings and interior walls, ensuring high-quality finishes. Responsibilities include mounting acoustical tiles and applying decorative materials to enhance aesthetics and soundproofing. The Sheet Rock Worker will work closely with other construction professionals and must possess strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Install and secure plasterboard, drywall, and other wallboard materials to ceilings and interior walls.
- Apply acoustical tiles, blocks, and shock-absorbing materials to improve sound quality in buildings.
- Prepare surfaces for installation by measuring, cutting, and shaping wallboard materials accurately.
- Utilize hand and power tools to perform cutting, fastening, and finishing tasks with precision.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Inspect and repair existing drywall installations for quality assurance and safety compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to industry standards and building codes during all installation processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in construction or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Sheet Rock Worker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and materials.
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools effectively and safely.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in construction settings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle lifting and installation tasks.
