Job Brief
The Shale Planer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized equipment used in the extraction and processing of shale materials in underground mining operations. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor shale planing machinery to ensure efficient extraction of mineral resources.

- Follow detailed operational plans and safety protocols to minimize risks in underground mining environments.
- Collaborate with mining engineers and supervisors to optimize production processes and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment usage, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices in mining operations.
- Train and mentor junior operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in heavy machinery operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a planer operator or in a similar role within the mining industry.
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, including planers, excavators, and loaders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in challenging underground environments and adhere to safety protocols.
