Job Brief
The Serologist plays a vital role in advancing the understanding of human diseases and enhancing healthcare outcomes. This position is responsible for conducting clinical investigations, research and development, and related activities focused on serological diagnostics and immunological studies. Responsibilities
- Conduct serological tests to detect antibodies and antigens, contributing to disease diagnosis and management.
- Engage in research projects aimed at understanding immunological responses and disease progression.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to integrate findings into clinical practice.
- Develop and optimize laboratory protocols and procedures for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in the training and mentoring of laboratory staff and interns in serological techniques.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety and quality control standards.
- Contribute to scientific publications and presentations based on research findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Immunology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in serology, immunology, or clinical laboratory settings.
- Strong proficiency in laboratory techniques, including ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices in clinical laboratories.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in data interpretation.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent is a plus.
