Job Brief
As a Septic Pump Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of septic pump trucks to provide essential services for cleaning and repairing septic tanks, sewer lines, and drains. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, knowledge of plumbing systems, and the ability to perform physical labor in various environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a dedication to maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate septic pump trucks for the removal of waste and effluent from residential and commercial septic systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of septic tanks, sewer lines, and drain systems to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including the cleaning of tank interiors and the removal of clogs in sewer lines.
- Repair and patch walls and partitions of septic tanks, as well as replace damaged drain tiles and repair breaks in underground piping.
- Document service activities and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding wastewater disposal and environmental safety.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective completion of service requests.
- Provide exceptional customer service and educate clients on septic system maintenance and care.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating septic pump trucks or similar heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, septic tank operation, and wastewater management.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the wastewater industry.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs and maintenance of equipment.
