Job Brief
As a Seismograph Operator, you will support scientists and engineers in utilizing electronic, sonic, or nuclear measuring instruments to gather critical data for resource exploration and production. Your primary responsibilities will involve analyzing geological samples, including mud and drill cuttings, and monitoring well characteristics such as pressure and temperature. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain seismographic equipment to collect data on geological formations.
- Assist in the analysis of mud and drill cuttings to assess resource potential.
- Chart and interpret pressure, temperature, and other well characteristics for geological assessments.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to design experiments and field studies.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of measuring instruments and data collection methods.
- Document findings and prepare reports on seismographic data for project stakeholders.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during fieldwork.
- Stay updated with advancements in seismographic technology and methodologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Seismograph Operator or in a similar role in geosciences.
- Familiarity with electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards in exploration activities.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and geological modeling tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork and adapt to varying work conditions.
