Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Seismic Engineer to conduct subsurface surveys and analyze geological conditions for land or mining development projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geotechnical engineering and seismic data analysis, with expertise in identifying safe extraction methods and underground construction processes. The Seismic Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project compliance with safety, environmental, and economic standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed subsurface surveys to assess geological characteristics and site viability for development.
- Analyze seismic data to evaluate ground stability and potential hazards in mining or construction projects.
- Design and implement ground support systems to ensure safe and economical extraction methods.
- Inspect sites for unsafe geological conditions, equipment functionality, and overall working conditions.
- Develop and coordinate mine safety programs in compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with geologists, environmental scientists, and construction teams to optimize project outcomes.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in seismic engineering methodologies and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in seismic analysis and geotechnical projects.
- Proficiency in seismic data interpretation and software tools for geotechnical analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards in mining and construction.
- Familiarity with ground support systems and underground construction techniques.
