Job Brief
The School Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking large quantities of nutritious meals for students and staff in educational institutions. Responsibilities

- Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of food supplies, including ordering and receiving deliveries.
- Collaborate with school staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Monitor and maintain food storage temperatures to ensure food safety.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers in food preparation and safety practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on food trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a school, hospital, or large-scale food service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to prepare meals in large quantities while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Certification in food handling and safety (e.g., ServSafe) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.
- Ability to adapt recipes for special dietary needs, including allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks in a kitchen environment.
