Job Brief
The School Bus Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation. Responsibilities
- Supervise and maintain order among students while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus.
- Assist students with disabilities or special needs to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety compliance.
- Monitor student behavior and address any behavioral problems in a professional manner.
- Implement emergency evacuation procedures and provide guidance during emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with bus drivers and school personnel regarding student needs and safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment on the bus at all times.
- Report any incidents or safety hazards to the appropriate authorities promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in child safety or first aid is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students and staff effectively.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to school transportation.
- Ability to assist students with disabilities, including physical support when necessary.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by school district policies.
