Job Brief
As a Sales Route Driver, you will be responsible for driving a truck or vehicle over established routes to deliver and sell goods, including food products and other commercial items. This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong time management, and the ability to work independently. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in sales or delivery roles, showcasing their ability to meet sales targets and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Drive the assigned vehicle along established routes to deliver products to customers.
- Engage with customers to sell products, take orders, and collect payments.
- Stock and organize merchandise at points of delivery to ensure optimal presentation.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, delivery times, and customer feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
- Resolve customer issues and inquiries promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or sales is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL may be required for larger vehicles.
- Proven experience in a sales or delivery role, preferably within the food or beverage industry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to engage effectively with clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Basic mathematical skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
- Familiarity with route planning and GPS navigation systems.
- Physical stamina to handle lifting and moving products as necessary.
