Job Brief

As an RV Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of recreational vehicles, including travel trailers and customized van conversions. This role requires expertise in various systems such as gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and chassis/towing. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in the RV industry and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Your technical proficiency will ensure that all vehicles are safe and operational, enhancing the travel experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in recreational vehicles, including travel trailers and motorhomes.
  • Inspect, adjust, and repair gas, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems for optimal performance.
  • Overhaul and maintain chassis and towing systems to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
  • Repair or replace generators, appliances, and interior components, ensuring functionality and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake checks, and tire rotations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and recommend solutions effectively.
  • Document repairs and maintenance services accurately for customer records and compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in recreational vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive or RV repair is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an RV Mechanic or in a similar role within the recreational vehicle industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems in RVs.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair equipment used in RV maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license; certifications such as ASE or RVIA are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and provide exceptional service.
