Job Brief

As a Rural Mail Carrier, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages for the United States Postal Service (USPS). Responsibilities

  • Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail for efficient delivery.
  • Deliver mail and packages along designated rural routes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of postal items, including letters, parcels, and packages.
  • Utilize a postal vehicle or walk on foot to reach recipients in various locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and return undeliverable mail.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with the public and clients.
  • Report any issues or discrepancies regarding mail delivery to management.
  • Adhere to all postal service regulations and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; vehicle may be required.
  • Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers.
  • Previous experience in mail delivery, logistics, or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local geography and rural routes is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
