Job Brief
As a Rural Mail Carrier, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages for the United States Postal Service (USPS). Responsibilities
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail for efficient delivery.
- Deliver mail and packages along designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate delivery of postal items, including letters, parcels, and packages.
- Utilize a postal vehicle or walk on foot to reach recipients in various locations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and return undeliverable mail.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with the public and clients.
- Report any issues or discrepancies regarding mail delivery to management.
- Adhere to all postal service regulations and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; vehicle may be required.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers.
- Previous experience in mail delivery, logistics, or customer service is preferred.
- Familiarity with local geography and rural routes is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
