Job Brief

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. This position requires expertise in various respiratory care modalities, along with the ability to supervise respiratory therapy technicians. You will initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure the proper selection, assembly, checking, and operation of respiratory care equipment. Ideal candidates should have a strong foundation in respiratory therapy practices and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and aerosol treatments.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Supervise and train respiratory therapy technicians to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure to practice respiratory therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care modalities and equipment.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in acute care or critical care environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and respiratory therapy documentation.
