Job Brief
As a Road Grader Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roadways, parking lots, and airport runways. This role requires a keen understanding of grading techniques and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities
- Operate road grading machinery to prepare surfaces for asphalt or concrete application.
- Ensure proper grading techniques are used to achieve desired road specifications and elevations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on grading equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate grading activities with other site operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy machinery on-site.
- Monitor material usage and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Proven experience operating road graders or similar heavy machinery in a construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of road grading techniques and materials used in road construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and engineering specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
