Job Brief
The Rig Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of construction and extraction workers on drilling sites. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily drilling operations and manage crew assignments to ensure efficient workflow.
- Coordinate with engineers and other technical staff to optimize drilling performance.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to minimize accidents and incidents on-site.
- Monitor equipment performance and facilitate maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
- Conduct regular training sessions for crew members to enhance skills and safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, production data, and safety inspections.
- Communicate effectively with upper management regarding operational challenges and team performance.
- Oversee compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Rig Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the oil and gas sector.
- Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide crew members.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Valid certifications in safety management and rig operations (e.g., BOP, H2S Awareness).
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to changing conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
