Job Brief

As a Retirement Plan Specialist, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing retirement benefit programs that meet the needs of employees while adhering to regulatory requirements. You will analyze compensation and benefits structures, focusing on pension plans and position classification, to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. This role requires a strong understanding of retirement plan regulations and experience in benefits administration, ensuring compliance and effective program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and administer retirement plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct job analysis and position classification to optimize compensation structures.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing retirement programs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to develop and implement employee communication strategies regarding retirement benefits.
  • Provide expert guidance on pension plan options, eligibility, and enrollment procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees on retirement planning and benefits.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting retirement plans.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management on retirement plan performance and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retirement plan administration or benefits management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and other relevant laws governing retirement plans.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration software and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for employee engagement and training.
  • Certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar are preferred.
