Job Brief
The Reserve Tube Welder is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending welding, soldering, and brazing machines to fabricate and assemble metal products and components. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and laser welding, along with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Ideal candidates will have a background in welding technology, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform quality inspections to ensure adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate welding machines, including MIG, TIG, and laser welding equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise welds on metal components.
- Monitor welding processes to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding machinery.
- Perform quality inspections of welded joints and assemblies to identify defects.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve welding processes.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Document welding production data and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding preferred.
- Proven experience as a tube welder or in a similar welding role.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques and processes.
- Ability to interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency in operating welding machinery, including automated and robotic systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards in the workplace.
