Job Brief

As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you will play a vital role in the healthcare of animals by performing medical tests and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This position requires hands-on experience in a laboratory environment, proficiency in preparing vaccines and serums, and the ability to conduct laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts. Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical tests in a laboratory setting to aid in diagnosing and treating animal diseases.
  • Prepare vaccines and serums to prevent common ailments in animals.
  • Collect and analyze tissue and blood samples, executing laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain veterinary instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures as needed.
  • Monitor and record animal health data to assist in ongoing treatment plans.
  • Educate pet owners on preventative care and post-treatment procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitary protocols within the veterinary facility.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a veterinary laboratory or clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
